Thanksgiving Day

_____Breakfast: bowl of cheerios and coffee

I was feeling very hungry and physically weak just before noon. This could only mean the paradox of hypoglycemia. This is a paradox because I am on pills that can lead to this. It also means that I am slightly safer from the  threats of high blood sugar and might even live longer than my Father did (68)

Snack: a couple of chunks of dark chocolate and a large tablespoon of peanut butter
________Lunch: at the Boot Hill Casino restaurant:

  • salad
  • small cup of "Texas Chilli
  • slice of ham
  • slices of roast beef
  • slices of turkey loaf
  • mashed potatoes
  • turkey gravy
  • excellent corn casserole
  • small slice of chocolate cake
  • small slice of pumpkin pie
  • "Diet Pepsi"
We went to the Boot Hill Casino for Thanksgiving Dinner. We normally simply walk in and go straight to the restaurant desk. But today, we had to wait perhaps 20 minutes for so; it at least gave me time for a toilette break, which I needed after the coffee I had drank earlier!
When we were seated, we were fortunate enough to be at the back of the seating area, with a very clear view of the buffet area. This meant that we could see how many people were waiting in line. There were a lot of them
I got my salad first because salad comes before the main course and because there wasn't much of a line. I also grabbed a small slice of chocolate cake. (I was thinking of that hypoglycemia and the  fear they might have run out of chocolate cake; as it turned out, they had not!) Our waiter came over to ask us what we wanted to drink; he  "hunted" us down in the  salad line to ask this. Now, that is great service!
After getting down with my salad, I got another salad plate and got a couple of slices of well cooked roast beef and one slice of ham; the waiting lines were still long and  I really wanted some meat!
When the line had finally disappeared, Kathie told me "go get lunch before the line is back". I was starting to feel full but took her advise. This was wise as the line immediately built behind me. They screwed up the layout of food or we were going ass backwards. I got my mashed potatoes and corn casserole before the ham and turkey. I had to break into the line to get turkey gravy but I apologized but got my gravy. The meal was fine and I took a slice of pumpkin pie as well.
They gave out free "Diet Pepsi" but didn't offer to sell Kathie a glass of Marlow. She was a little pissed...
_______Dinner: A very simple meal of a bowl of Healthy Choice chicken noodle soup and a peanut butter and grape jelly on sour dough bread.
