homemade tomatoe soup




My homemade tomotoe soup is based on a couple of other recipes.

In one sauce pan,  I boiled a medium onion and two cloves of garlic in 2 cups of chicken broth. I blended this and added a 6 oz. can of tomatoe paste.

In another and larger sauce pan, a simmered a 28 oz can of tomatoes in juice. This too was ground up in the blender.

I mixed both pans and simmered them some more. About 10 minutes before serving this soup, I added 1 cup of Half and Half. This was a fine soup!

The next time I made this, I will put the onion, garlic, tomatoe and tomatoe paste together in one pan and stew it there. Mayhap I will buy an immersion blender?

Next time, I will also add sausage (not hot dogs) to this soup and serve it with oyster crackers.
