After last night's high score, I wanted to see how much this morning's score would fall. It was 134, which is quite high. I checked my pills and found I did not have any Januvia; I put the Januvia in. This evening, I found I apparently did not have glipizidel; I put the 5mg glipizide in.

I will be checking for both drugs for the rest of this drug period.

               I forgot to take my evening pills after getting home.


The last time (10 December 2010) we went to Jalisco, the service was absolutely awful. It was much better tonight. We might be willing to go back. However, we have drastically cut back on our going out to dinner (today's breakfast and supper to the contrary) and we were not all that impressed. If it were not for the memory of how bad it was on 10 December 2010, I would be inclined to call tonight's food merely adequate.

DC I know I should not drink diet drinks but I wanted something with more flavour than water, was not in the mood for milk and it is too early for beer or even a gin-n-tonic. (sigh)

sucks The service really sucked. Kathie and I agreed to wait 15 minutes and if we got no service in that time frame, we would leave. "Our" waiter said "I'll be right with you" at the 14 minute mark. At 21 minutes, I was standing up to leave when "our" waiter charged up with order note pad in hand. We ordered. This was an exceptionally poor example of service (even for Applebys).

half I order a half order but got served, and charged for, a full order. I was pissed!

The thing about Applebys is the food is "all American". The downside is the service is often poor. When you are seated, you expect (or should expect), to be acknowledged by a waiter within 30 to 60 seconds of being seated. Then, your drink orders are quickly taken and the drinks brought out fairly quickly. Dinner orders are taken immediately after drinks are served.

The old model was meals were served slowly. The new model is they are served quicker.

The waiter/waitress was supposed to check on your drinks at least once during your dinner and also to ask if the meal is up to your expectations. "Our" waiter asked about drinks but not about the meal.

Waiters were then expected to ask  if you want desert.  Now, you can be done with your meal without be asked for either. It used to annoy me when we would be given the ticket without being asked if we wanted desert. Apparently, "studies showed" that it was more profitable to clear a table and put it in service with the next party than it was to serve desert and an after dinner drink.

yuck The first two sausages were fine. Number 3 suddenly tasted horrible (The taste caused me to lose my appetite.) What was left of #4 got dropped on the side of my driveway for the neighborhood dogs. What a humanitarian I am!

A couple of hours later, I realized the sausage was still there. Either the dogs didn't like the smell or the scavengers only after dark.
