Of all my meals, lunch was one of them...

Of all my meals, lunch was one of them...

An article I once read in "Proceedings" made fun of the Air Force Officer Fitness Report (FITREPs) system. This author said that there were three types of FITREPS:

1. Those officers the reporting senior wants promoted,
2. Those officers the reporting senior wants shitcanned and
3. Those officers "good to go" for seveal more years of service...

A typical comments on a FITREP of the third category would be "of all the officers serving me, XXX is definitely one of them!" Can you say "damnation by faint praise"?

The lunches my wife and I "enjoyed" fit into the category of "of all the meals served us, this was definitely one of them!" We chowed down (I won't dignify it with "ate" or "dined") at the 14th Stree Dillions here in Dodge. And it wasn't even served to us, we had to pay for each item separately. We had:

My wife: chicken breast, chicken wing and two moterillo {sp} sticks,
Me: chicken breast, chicken leg, mashed potatoe, gravy and two sticks.

It was bad enuf that they "unbundled" the meal and made us pay for each item separately but the quality rather sucked and the price was comparable to that of "the Rat" (ok, KFC). KFC would have been far better but we were getting tired of the

* Better attention at KFC,
* Better food and
* Better food for the buck at KFC.

OK, that was a joke. But seriously, we had gotten tired of "The Rat".

Ah, well, I guess you have to endure the occasional bad meal to appreciate the better meals...
