About me...

I have dieted for many years and was even in "Overeatters Anonymous". The irony of OA is that my wife and I would be "good" all week and then feel absolutely compelled to stop at Dairy Queen on the way home. That sucked...

27 February 2006

Breakfast: cream of wheat, two slices wheat toast and 2 cups coffee (oh, yeh, two dark choclate Hershe Kisses...)

Sunday, February 26, 2006

26 February 2006

Breakfast: McDonald's big breakfast. (I had left over chilli around 6 am with crackers...)

Lunch: Olive Garden, salad, spegetti with meat sauce and meat balls and diet coke.

Dinner: Another bloody salad and a small bowl of cream of brocolli soup.

25 February 2006

Breakfast: tomatoe soup

2nd Breakfast: We went out; two fried eggs over medium, two pork chops, hash browns, toast with grape jelly and too much coffee...

Friday, February 24, 2006

24 February 2006

Breakfast: Small bowl Bush's beanless, all-meat chilli and a 1.5oz bag of "Cheez-It" Baked Snack Crackers (they were in the office "gedunk" machine and what is chilli without crackers) and a Diet Pepsi. Hopefully, a Diet Pepsi I brought in last week; if not, I just snagged (and drank) someone's unname/labeled drink. It was quite good!

Lunch: salad

Dinner: A croc pot version of Beef Strogonoff {sp} and a beer (MGD)

Thursday, February 23, 2006

23 February 2006

Breakfast: Left over stewed meatballs and noodles and tomatoe sauce and grated pharachon cheese.

Snack (decadance): I'd thought we were going to have an office luncheon so I brought in ice cream (venilla and choclate chip) and extra dark choclate). The luncheon had been cancelled after I'd gone home the day before but the ice cream was enjoyed...

Lunch: Salad

Dinner: A T-bone steak, baked potatoe, salad, two (2!) MGD (Miller G Draft) beers and a White Russian at Casey's Cowtown!

Wednesday, February 22, 2006

22 February 2006

Breakfast: Aunt Jamama pancakes, a Diet Pepsi and coffee.

Snack: bag of popcorn and a Diet Pepsi.

Lunch: At Casey's Cowtown: chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and white gravy, corn and Diet Pepsi.

Dinner: Small salad and bowl of chicken noodled soup (overcooked from sitting in the warmer too long but it was good!) and a MGD (Miller Genuine Draft) beer. This was a real beer and not one of those awful "lite" beers!

Tuesday, February 21, 2006

21 February 2006

Breakfast: leftover chicken, rice pilof and Diet Pepsi. (Actually, I mixed these items with the brocolli water of last night, stewed them and mixed in three teaspoons of homemade mustard. That was almost more than enough...)

Lunch: Pizza and salad bar with way too much and choclate pudding. I felt the results of too much sugar a couple of hours afterwards.

Dinner:

Healthy Choice - Chicken Parmigiana adn water but hopefully not my current #1 desert:

Homemade Mustard

Mike's Homemade Mustart®

I found this recipe on the internet; unfortunately, I don't recall where I found it...

1/4 cup Cain's Ground Mustard

1/4 cup water

Mix the Mustard power with the water and you'll find it to be very strong. It'll have to age and "gentle" for several days.

The ® is a little joke...

20 February 2006

Breakfast: leftover chicken, rice pilof and Diet Pepsi. (Actually, I mixed these items with the brocolli water of last night, stewed them and mixed in three teaspoons of homemade mustard. That was almost more than enough...)

Lunch: Sonic burger, fries and a "large" Diet Coke.

Dinner: salad and ...

Sunday, February 19, 2006

19 February 2006

Breakfast: Oatmeal and coffee and a little bit of no sugar diet vinilla pudding.

Lunch: baked chicken, rice pilof, brocolli flowers and a couple of Diet Pepsi.

Dinner: A crock pot stew of chopped tomatoes, tomatoe sauce and meatballs. Expect to have a beer with this...

18 February 2006

Breakfast: bowl shredded wheat and coffee and somthing else that escapes me now. Oh, yes, a bag of popcorn in mid morning...

Lunch: Burger King chicken samwich, fries and Diet Pepsi. I had order an "Angus" burger (a #5, actually...)

Dinner: Small salad and a Lean Quizine (I think) featuring beef chunks, spuds, gravy and carrots (I think)

Saturday, February 18, 2006

17 February 2006

Breakfast: cream of wheat, two slices of toast and coffee.

Lunch: Salad and a bottle of Diet Pepsi.

Dinner: A "Papa Merphy's" pizza. It was quite good but not good for me. My A1C was way too high two hours after eatting...

Friday, February 17, 2006

16 February 2006

Breakfast: Left over spegetti and Diet Pepsi.

Lunch: At Casey's Cowtown, a large hamburger, fries and a Diet Pepsi

(This was at the Lions Board of Directors meeting and the joy of

being ignored when I tried to speak was so "wonderful" that I
damned near resigned from the Board!)

Dinner: On impulse, I bought a Beef Stronoff{sp} mix that merely required
the addition of beef, water and 2% milk and a couple of glasses of

Foster Beer and Dessert Can you guess what?

15 February 2006

Breakfast: A double bisquit SOS at Wendys.
Lunch: Chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and
white gravy and cottage cheese at "Casey's Cowtown".

Afternoon decadance: Diet Root beer float at the reopened A&W.
It was damn fine!

Dinner: Twelve oz steak, garlic mashed potatoes, undercooked sautaed onions and the Triple Choclate desert.

The onions, being undercooked, probably lead to the diahrea I had
after getting home...

Alas...

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

14 February 2006

Breakfast: Some no sugar vinilla pudding and shredded wheat.

Lunch: Chicken club salad and Diet Pepsi.

Dinner: Cheap steak, some white rice and brocolli.

Monday, February 13, 2006

13 February 2006

Breakfast: a bagel with peanut butter and Aunt Jamami pancakes and coffee

Lunch: hamburger, fries and diet Root Beer from A & W.

Dinner: Pizza from Dillions.

I should have dropped the Dillions' Pizza when I realized that it was "formerly frozen" and gone to WalMart and bought a hand made pizza from a vendor there. I fried up "ground sirlion" and put this on both halves of the pizza. Then, I put anchovies on Kathie's half.

It tasted adequate. What was it that the Babylon 5 character Vir Kotto said: "it tasted so good going down but not so good coming back up". After I went to bed, I woke up with my mouth full of an acid bitter liquid (digestive juices). Finally, I woke up with a load of this acid flowing through my nose. I wiped this liquid crap off my chin and chest and
blew my nose. Then, my wife told me "don't stick you finger down your throat, you'll just make things worst". Good point; I drank some water and felt better...

A recipie blog...

I was randomly reading blogs appearing on the "read me" section of the blog webpage and found this. I wonder if the writer had non-beef recipies?

10 February 2006

Breakfast: Cream of Wheat, slice of toast and coffee...

Lunch: From "Sonics", a double hanberger, fries and Diet Pepsi.
I was hungery.

Dinner: Pancakes, sausage and coffee at a pancake dinner fund raiser
put on by a Lions Club.

I was really thirsty and had a gin and tonic after getting home and

showering. I like the taste of the tonic water and lime and simply

drink that at times...

9 February 2006

Breakfast: Cream of wheat and coffee.
Lunch: Salad-Arby's Chicken Southwest Salad and diet pepsi
Dinner: Three pancakes and five or six sausage paddies and coffee.

Relaxing afterwards: A big honking gin and tonic and a little one. I
was very thirsty...

8 February 2006

Breakfast: cream of wheat, two slices toast and coffee.

Lunch: At "Casey's Cowtown", one of the specials:
chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and white gravy, corn
and Diet Pepsi.

Dinner: "Montana Mike's" where I had the "Montana Mike's

Mighty Meat Meal" - a 22 oz Sirlon steak, "loaded"

potatoe, salad and (living righteously!) a glass

of ice water with several chunks of lemon it it!

Basically, my lunch and dinner aren't going to help the A1C test much but
then both Kathie and I getting tired of my "eatting right". Oh, well, the
damned thing is in only a week and I doubt that I'll finese it too much...

Before going to bed, I put part of a can of Fosters beer into some stuff

I'm slow cooking (well, cooking on top of the stove). Then, I drank the

rest of the can. It was my first booze in about a month and really

hit me hard! I ended up flushed and feeling slightly ill. I guess getting

reacclimiated to alcohol is going to be harder than I would have ever

thought it could be...

Noreme's Coffee Cake

NOREME'S COFFEE CAKE

Noreme is an old friend of my mother, someone she went to college with in the late 1940s. So, this recipe has been tested by my family for about 55-57 years now...

1 stick oleo (or butter)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sour cream
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder

Mix sugar and oleo until puffy. Add eggs, vanilla and sour cream, then beat. Add dry ingredients and mix. Pour half of batter into greased baking pan (a loaf shaped pan). Mix 1/2 cup sugar with tsp cinnamon. Pour half of this over the batter. Put remainder of batter into pan and pour remaining topping over this batter. Bake in 350 F oven for 45 to 55 min.

6 February 2006

BREAKFAST: Something different: The last of the leftover steak from this
past weekend, two scrambled egges, two slices of toast and
coffee...

LUNCH: At Taco Time, we had their new fried thingie, a hard shell
taco and a large Diet Pepsi. I knew the "hard shell taco"
was hard since it came to me in pieces...

DINNER: The leftovers of the crockpotted pork chop, small potatoe and
some sour krat from this past weekend. Then, still being
hungry, ate a bag of microwave popcorn.

SNACK:
There was an irony with the leftover steak I had for breakfast. Last night, I had about half of it as a snack (enough to cover the palm of my hand) and had an immediate alergic reaction). I had to take the MucinexDM to control the itchiness of the nose and sneezing; even so, I woke up around 3 am with a completely snuffed up nose and it took a long to clear up. Having said that, the steak I ate for breakfast seemingly had no ill effects on me.

crock pot liner...

My wife bought some "Reynolds Crockpot liners" last week and I used one with our new crockpot yesterday. It worked quite nicely and I'm looking forward to cleanup being simply lifting the used liner out and throwing it away. Of course, I will have to do this carefully...

It did remind me of a condom...
