28 June 2007

Breakfast: The Hotel’s version of hash browns: this was large chunks of beef, some chunks of potatoe, cheese and two poached eggs over the top. There were also two slices of whole wheat toast and coffee. I couldn’t finish it all…

Lunch:
At “Buca di Deppo”: Spegetti with meat balls (very different and very good!) for about US$ 8 and Kathie had a “salad” that was
· A large sliced tomatoe
· Slices of fresh cheese
· Some veggies

Their desert was a US$9.99 piece of chocolate cake. This was the best piece of chocolate cake either of us have ever had! It was better than the original Roses in West Portland Oregon and even better than the cakes made by my Maternal Grandmother (Grammie) in Bay City Michigan (309 West Fisher).

Dinner:
At “Seven Heaven on Rush”: This is a Lousiana place: I had “southern chicken” on garlic mashed potatoes with white gravy, real French Bread, a bow of delicious potatoe soup (thank God this isn’t a “test the blood” day!) and a rather decent micro-brew beer. Definitely, not a commercial beer!
