26 September 2016
Breakfast: a bowl of Wheaties and some leftover rice and chicken from last night and the remnants of the bottle of Diet Pepsi
I had blood tests this morning so I did not take my pills or eat before going to the clinic. Still, I had a hard time of getting out of bed this morning and felt weak; I checked my blood sugar. My “score” was 71, which means I was (for me) hypoglycemic! I decided to go to the clinic early, get the blood work done and take my pills then eat as soon as I got home.
Naturally, the waiting room was full and I had to wait quite a while. I was also scheduled for follow-up X-Rays. The X-Rays combined with the wait for blood work meant I didn’t get home until after 9 am. I then took my pills and had breakfast a bit sooner than the mandatory 30 minute wait after taking my morning stomach pill.
Lunch: We went to Wendy’s and I had:
• A “Baconader” (two ¼ lb hamburger patties and
• Slices of bacon
• A baked potatoe with sour creamme and butter and
• A large “Diet Pepsi”
Snack: a little dark chocolate and a spoonful of PB & GJ.
Dinner: the skin of my leftover baked potatoe and A Healthy Choice chicken dish with cold water.
Snack: A gin-n-tonic! You didn’t think I could listen to Donald Trump sober? (This was the first Hillary Clinton vs Donald Trump debate. The moderator did a fine job; Hillary was impressive and Donald an asshole jackass.
AM 71 (I don’t plan on an evening test today. I will do the testing as usual tomorrow. This is partially because I needed to know my blood sugar this morning and mainly because sometimes I just do not want to bother with testing me blood sugar!)

Snack: small amount of dark chocolate fudge
Lunch: bowl of Campbell’s Ceamme of Tomatoe soup with two boiled hot dogs and a single slice of sour dough bread withg peanut butter and grape jelly. I drank some water.
Snack: Perhaps a teaspoon of dark chocolate fudge Snack 2: Late afternoon for a small amount of potatoe chips and about a tablespoon of peanut butter.
Dinner: I brought back a tray of lazanna, which Kathie and I split. We reduced the cooking time and yet it still turned out a bit burned. Well, better luck next time…
AM 118 PM 108
I’ve found that a high AM score either results in a high PM score (~220 or so) or a low PM score (~105-115). I repent having told my brother Charlie that he should have been able to control his blood sugar easily. I have been a type two for 12 years 4 months and 9 days and I know that it is not easy!
AFTERMATH: I felt a return to the stomach pain immediately after lunch. Hopefully, I will be able to take one of my missing stomach pill (I had to get a refill) and this will make me feel better… Blood: Being diabetic, my MD has me testing my blood sugar first thing in the morning Tuesdays and Thursday and two hour after I “put down the fork” after dinner. It is fairly cheap and no problem. I seldom actually feel the “sting” of the needle.

Breakfast: Milk toast and coffee
Lunch: At the Dodge City Community College for:
· Spanish rice
· Stewed pork chunks
· Corn on the cob
· Salad
· Chocolate cake for desert
· Glass of Diet Pepsi
Snack: small chunk (about a teaspoon worth) of dark chocolate fudge and a teaspoon of peanut butter
Dinner: Kathie’s “Mexican”, which is:
· Hamburger and seasoning
· Smashed refried beans
· Shredded cheese
· Salsa
· tortillas
· Half a Fosters in the oil can size!
I had two of the tortillas and half the can of Fosters. Kathie had the other can. We both enjoyed this beer!
Desert: a couple of bites of dark chocolate fudge.
AFTERMATH I ended up with massive indigestion and stomach pain. I took Tums twice and “pink” (Pepto Mismol) once. Then, when I woke up Thursday morning, I had a nasty “Pepto” taste in my mouth.
