  • a baloney sandwich made of meat from the deli in Libenthau Kansas on sourdough bread

Lunch: We were both home today and so we had something special:
  • roast chicken
  • bread dressing
  • broccoli florets
  • *orange sherbet with chocolate shell and
  • *a bottle of Diet Pepsi
*This was soooo decadent...

Dinner: left overs from the new restaurant at the golf course the other night:
  • about half of my steak (still very nice warmed up in the microwave...)
  • baked potatoe
  • iced water
Snack: several (literally) peanuts

Breakfast: at the Boot Hill Casino
  • SOS on hash browns
  • sausage patties
  • a largish (8") waffle with butter and whipped creamme
  • and coffee

Lunch: two hot dogs and cold water

Dinner: Healthy Choice "Classic Meat Loaf" (meat loaf with rich brown gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet corn blend & apple cranberry Multigrain Crisp) and iced water

Snack: a couple of chocolate chip cookies

Breakfast: wheaties with 2 bananas and coffee

Lunch: Healthy Choice roast beef, potatoes, carrots and apple crisp (and a bottle of Diet Pepsi)

Dinner: at the Mariaha Hills Restaurant:
  • salad with French dressing
  • 16 oz steak (I took about ½ home with me)
  • large baked potatoe (also took about ½ home with me...)
  • a darkish ale
  • a bottle of Coors lager
  • around ½ or so of a small chocolate desert
  • desert at home: 2 gin-n-tonics (I guess I go to excess with the C2H5OH several times a year...)

Breakfast: At work, a Jimmy Dean scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage meal. I had a couple of small pieces of chocolate cake before breakfast; I was hungry and heard about eating this from a friend (he did not approve)

Lunch: Pizza Hutt for salad, chocolate pudding desert and all meat pizza with a glass of "Diet Pepsi"

Dinner: Left over spaghetti and a slice (chunk actually) of sour dough bread with butter and garlic salt on it (and I wondered why my mouth tasted so bad the next morning... ;-) )

Breakfast: from Burger King

Lunch: from Dillions lunch room:
  • a chicken breast
  • two chicken legs
  • mashed potatoes with
  • white gravy
  • and a bottle of Diet Pepsi
I reacted poorly to the grease in the fried chicken; I was belching up stomach acid before leaving the Dillions (Kathie and I did some post lunch shopping)

Dinner: just a collection of stuff from around the house...
  • two hot dogs
  • big bowl tomatoe soup
  • chunks of sour dough bread
  • cold water
Well, our latest "Do NOT Eat At List" now consists of:

  • the "Mexican" place where Pepercorns used to be (poor service, mediocre food and they ran out of food last Monday; they got overwhelmed) but they don't necessarily have to remain on this list. I won't be going back for at least a month though...
  • Dillions' luncheonette...their fried chicken has always been too greasy (but better than WallyWorlds) and Kathie didn't like their "Chinese")
  • that steak house in the old Train Station. Although I have not been there this Millennium, I still remember the allergic reactions I had from their steak seasoning; one should not need the Asama inhalator post dinner...
Off the list: ChaCha's place since ChaCha apparently has a gambling problem and didn't pay her taxes. Her place was shut down several months ago.

No quarters to buy snacks at work, therefore, no snacks...

  • salad with vinaigrette dressing
  • 3 slices of roast beef
  • mashed potatoes
  • brown gravy
  • two rolls with butter (I had a second roll as I was hungry!)
  • vanilla/chocolate parfait with whipped creamme

Snack: two glasses of something called "Mudslide" and beef jerky

Dinner: left over beef stew, cheeze its and iced water

Later, for a snack, I ate four little Oreo s as I was hungry. After eating this, I wasn't hungry and regretted what I'd done...

Breakfast: the left over pizza from the other night and coffee

Lunch: salad with sliced grilled streak and sautaed onions, Thousand Island Dressing and a small bowl of cottage cheese and ice water

Desert: a fellow Lion had his birthday today and we celebrated with his birthday cake. It was choclate cake with chocolate frosting and strawberries. The cake came from "Home of Jo-nes". I'll have to remember this come August, when I turn 60 and a friend turns 55...

Dinner: home made beef stew made with:
  • stewing beef
  • carrots
  • corn
  • hash brown potatoes
  • some onion flakes
  • seasoning
  • beef stew seasoning
I had wanted to try a beef stew with hash brown potatoes and it turned out fine. But, I was at work and had to use a paper bowl in our kitchen. So, I didn't get a lot of stew and didn't want to go back for "seconds". Thus, I was hungry later and had a bag of microwave popcorn.

 Breakfast: wheaties and coffee

Lunch: at the "Mexican" place where "Peppercorn's" used to be. I had the lunch buffet of:
  • tacos
  • some kind of pork soup on rice
  • rice over runny refried beans
  • "Diet Coke"
The place was crowded; they ran out of food a couple of times and ran out of plates once. The service was slow (the help was somewhat overwelmed). The experience was so bad we're not going back anytime soon. In fact, they have dropped below the Rat  KFC on our "don't eat at list".

Dinner: We went to Montana Mike's for Valintine's Day. They are not normally open on Mondays but opened anyway...

We had:
  • "potatoe boats" for the appitizer
  • salad with French Dressing
  • Large (and rather odd) "Prime Rib"
  • mashed potatoes with brown gravy (I should have gone with baked potatoes)
  • ice water
Snack: a gin-n-tonic...

A couple of hours after dinner (and with 227), I was hungry and had desert...

Lunch: We went to Casey's Cowtown, for the monthly Lions Board meeting and were the only ones there! So, I had

Snack: I was still hungry and having seen a History Channel show about snacks last weekend, I went to Dairy Queen for a medium choclate dipped cone

Dinner: A Healthy Choice meatloaf with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, corn and apple crisp and iced water

I have been peeing a lot today and after a morning score of 170, I was curious what my 2-hour-post-eating score would be...

The score was 190 and this was much higher than what I had hoped for.  What can I say?

Snack: I made a sugar-free donut recipe. It was fine but needed more flour as it was too sticky and I probably should have let the water cool a bit more before putting the yeast in as the dough didn't rise much.

  • peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich
Snack: a couple of gin-n-tonics...

_____Breakfast: left over steak, baked potatoe, corn from Casey's Cowtown. Good stuff!
________Lunch:  about 1/2 of the overcooked roast beef I cooked and froze
Snack:a large amount of theater popcorn and a medium "Diet Pepsi"
_______Dinner:  2 hot dogs and a can of Campbell's tomatoe soup
Pre-Bed Snack: a gin-n-tonic


Sadly, something disagreed with me and I ended up vomiting about an hour after going to bed. I'll blame the popcorn so that I might eat the roast beef but I know damn well that I'll never eat the roast beef. There is just enough doubt in my mind that I'll not trust the beef to safe for eating.

You see, I put the beef in the over at about 250F for most of a day, froze it, thawed it at 250F again and ate about ½ the beef. It looks like Buster, a hugh choclate lab, is going to have a treat tomorrow...

_____Breakfast: a variation on the "Amish Cook's" recipe. I made an egg dish with:
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup of light creamme
  • about 1.5 teaspoons of flour
  • some fennel
  • some dried onion
  • a pinch of baking soda
  • a pinch of baking power
I mixed this all up and baked it in a pre-baked pie dish. It took a while for the egg mixture to fully set up but it was fine. The mixture spread out in the pie pan and was thinner than when I cooked it the first time in a sauce pan. I think having it thick (as it was the first time) made it better.
________Lunch: We went to Pizza Hut where I had spaghetti with meat sauce, a bread stick and a "single visit to the salad bar" and a couple of glasses of "Diet Pepsi".
The fairly new manager - Jerry - has really turned this Pizza Hutt around.
  • The seating is much quicker than before,
  • the food is better and more quickly supplied,
  • the salad bar is much better and
  • the service is much better.


Jerry has simply turned this place around from his predecessor and I like going.
_______Dinner:  A Healthy Choice chopped roast beef, potatoe chunk, gravy, carrot disk and apple crisp meal.

Snack: some ice creamme (I was hungry and didn't want to bother with popcorn at 11:40 given than I get off work at noon.)

Lunch: A Healthy Choice meal (Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn, apple crisp, brown gravy) and water

Dinner: we went to Casey's Cowtown and I had:
  • salad with tangy Thousand Island Dressing
  • a 24 oz T-bone streak (I took a large amount of this home)
  • baked potatoe with butter and sour cramme
  • roll with butter
  • apple pie
  • iced water
Snack: a single shot of gin-n-tonic

Breakfast: left over hot dog/cheese/sour krat and potatoe stew from yesterday, coffee and a small amount of "Diet Pepsi" (very unfizzy)

Snack: some cake with vinillia ice creamme and water

  • roast beef with barby sauce
  • potatoe salad
  • corn
  • iced water
Dinner: a Healthy Choice meal (their roast beef chunks, chunked potatoes, corn and apple crisp) and cold water

Breakfast: a delayed breakfast as fasting lab work was done at 8 am. I had:
  • Burger King's new "cheesy" something. (scrambled eggs, potatoes thingies and cheese in a roll of something)
  • potatoe thingies
  • coffee
This was not a very tasty meal. It was a good thing I had lots of catchup for the potatoe thingies as they helped with the "cheezy" thingies...

Lunch: at the office, I had
  • my hot dog/boiled potatoe/sour kraut/cheese (sharp cheddar and Gouda)
  • a multi-meat sandwich
  • some cake and ice creamme
  • bottle of Diet Pepsi
Dinner: a Subway sandwich: turkey and ham and a glass of water. Had a gin-n-tonic for desert

My A1C was higher than I liked (8.2) but after discussion with Dr. Hoteter, I avoided shots and went with a new pill. Apparently this stuff can screw up the stomach and I confirmed that this morning (can you say "diarrhea"?)
