Breakfast: left over rice pilaf and coffee


Lunch: Tomatoe soup with 2 hot dogs, slice of sour dough bread with peanut butter and grape jelly and coffee


Dinner: We went to the pre opening of a new restaurant. This place was built in what had been the Boot Hill Museum warehouse. They handed out three dinner cards, and a desert card.
I ordered:
• Salad. There was some discussion with the waitress about what my dressing was going to be. When the main course arrived, Kathie reminded the waitress that I had not gotten my salad.
• We had pheasant “sticks”. Very nicely flavored but very dry. Overcooked?
• I got sirloin stripes wrapped around sliced veggies and a very nice corn dish. It wasn’t until we were getting desert that Kathie said “weren’t you supposed to have a baked potatoe”. She was right. I had discussed the toppings on my baked potatoe and was assured “it is real bacon”.
• The desert was fine. There were three well cooked bacon stripes stuck in whipped creamme.

This was an opening and all the orders hit the kitchen The head chef was overwhelmed, I think.

Finally, I drank three glasses of a lemonade that was supposedly “low sugar”. This “low sugar” gave me the highest post-dinner blood sugar readings I have every had!

It was a startup that actually went well (I think). We will be going back when they are officially open and I will keep better track of what I am supposed to be getting!

Breakfast: home made SOS and cvoffee


Lunch: We sent to Montana Mikes for lunchl. After this lunch, I told Kathie to not let me take her there for hambergers but to go to Caseys Cowtown instead. I had:
• Hot roll with butter
• Quarter pound hamberger (this was dry and overcooked)
• Fries
• About half of Kathie’s onion rings
• Tewo glasses ofg “Diet Pepsi”


Dinner: I couldn’t face Healthy Choice tonight so I had a can of creamme of cicken sou0p and a sikngle slice of sour dough bread with peanut butter and grape jelly.

I couldn’t get warm when I went to bed last night. Then, about 1 am, I woke up coughing and knew I was going to vomit shortly. So, I went to the hall bathroom and ended up vomiting several times. I still don’t know what I ate yesterday that turned my stomach so badly.

Lunch: at the Kansas Star Casino Mulvane Kansas for Thanksgiving Dinner of:
  • Cup of turkey soup
  • Sliced ham
  • Sliced turkey roll (not from a bird!)
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Brown gravy
  • Roll (I could not find any butter)
  • Chocolate cake with ice creamme
  • Bowl of ice creamme with chocolate syrup
  • Two glasses of “Diet Pepsi”
The food at the Dodge City Casino Restaurant is better. Also, there are no bathrooms inside the dining area, so if you really need to “use the head”, you can not return to the dining area! This is not the case at the Dodge City Casino Restaurant. 

Dinner: noodles and two hot dogs and glass of water

Snack: small piece of dark chocolate fudge.

Breakfast: last of the left over homemade stew and slice of sour dough bread with peanut butter and grape jelly.

Lunch: at the VA Hospital in Wichuita for
  • Incredibly tough roast beef
  • Fine mashed potatoes
  • Incipit brown gravy
  • Bottle of Diet Coke
Snack: we stayed at the DoubleTree (by Hilton) at the Wichita Airport and they give our fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. These are very good… 

Dinner: at the Legends Restaurant in the DoubleTree for:
  • Excellent bowl of French Onion soup
  • 12 oz rib eye steak
  • Baked potatoe
  • Veggies
  • Two slices of hard crusted bread (quite good!)
  • Two beers: Sam Adams Harvest Lagger and a Stella Atwas
I ate the soup, steak and baked potatoe and some of the veggies. 

We went to the bar and as I had been feeling too stuffed to have desert, I didn’t ask for anything. The bartender decided to spare me the embarrassment of apparently not being able to drink alcohol so he gave me a glass of ice water.

This looked a lot like how I like my gin and tonic.

Breakfast: at the Best Western Hotel in McPherson Kansas for

Lunch: at Montana Mike's in McPherson Kansas for:
  • Potatoe boat appetizer
  • hamburger
  • fries

I ordered potatoe boats as an appetizer. When the burger came out first, I asked "where are my potatoe boats"? The waitress said "I forgot to put them in." She did put them in and comped the cost...
Dinner: At the hotel for the traditional Lions Dinner Of:
  • Salad mashed potatoes
  • roast beef gravy
  • most of a slice of cheesecake
  • decaf coffee

I flagged down a “waiter” who told me they were making more decaf coffee. He then said he would – and did – tell me when the decaf coffee would be available so I could pour myself a cup. If we are paying him to be a waiter, should not he actually behave like a waiter and get the fucking customer a cup of fucking coffee? (Oh, wait, this was a banquet so the people paying for his services can damn well go get their own coffee!)

 I felt fine after eating.

We then went to the Montana Mike's bar and I had two Margaritas on the rocks. I felt drunkish but fine.

I slept very well. I the past, I would have been blowing chunks after the fat in the roast beef and the fat in the gravy. This year, the meat was much less fat and the gravy tasted like something that had come out of a can. It was low fat. The low fat reduced the flovour but also did not result in me blowing chunks.

Breakfast: Aunt Jamaica pancakes and coffee

Lunch: tuna fish sandwich and coffee

Snack: some Frito's and a glass of lemonade. This was bought from a lemonade stand being run as part of a bucket list item for a dying girl.

Dinner: at the Best Western Hotel in McPherson Kansas for the Fall State Council Meeting:
  • Salad
  • chicken fried steak
  • mashed potatoes
  • roll and margarine
  • very small piece of apple desert

Snack: two Margaritas (first frozen and the second on the rocks)

About an hour after going to bed, my stomach started bothering me. About 3 hours after going to bed, I vomited 7 times. This was mostly bright red liquid with very dark red streaks. This was very unpleasant and I had to mop up the floor...

  • a small bowl of the left over rice pilaf
  • and creamme of wheat and two slices sour dough bread
  • coffee and the last cookie I made an stored in the freezer

Snack: the last chocolate chip cookie and a small cup of coffee (Why not? The VA took blood and urine samples this morning so I guess I can afford to eat a cookie without changing my blood sugar.)

Lunch: At the Dodge City Community College (DCCC) for:
  • salad with cheese, cubed ham and an egg
  • two boneless pork chops
  • rice
  • “dirty” rice
  • Chocolate ice creamme
  • Glass of “Diet Pepsi”

Snack: some dark chocolate chips and a cup of coffee

Dinner: We didn’t want “Healthy Choice” so we went to “The Rat” (KFC) for:
  • Extra crispy breasts (2)
  • Extra crispy wing
  • Two orders of “potatoe wedges” and
  • A “Diet Pepsi”.
I ate the wing, one breast one order of potatoe wedges and most ot the “Diet Pepsi”. I will finish off the rest either tomorrow for breakfast or perhaps dinner.

Dinner: two hotdogs, two ears of corn, a chopped up potatoe and cold water

Snack: a small amount (a ¼ cup of dark chocolate mixed with a ½ cup of milk and heated in the microwave oven.

Dinner: We got pizza at Poppa Murphys. I had half a pizza of “meatlovers” and took a quarter of the pizza (half of my half). I got most of the way through it before I started barfing in my mouth. Yes, the fat from the hamburger really upset my stomach.

I took a bunch of tums and kept waking up thinking I should have gone and barfed. I eventually recovered…

Breakfast: Something special!
    Two scrambled eggs Two small slices of sour dough bread with
    • grape jelly and
    • margarine
    Two cups of coffee

I used my smaller cast iron fry pan. Scrambling the eggs had a different feel than what I normally feel when using a “non-stick” fry pan. Also, there was a different taste. I guess the stories of acquiring an iron taste and the taste of old meals just might be true…


Snack: a handful of dark chocolate chips.


Lunch: at a Mexican place Casa Alveraz for
  • A Mexican soup
  • A taco
  • An enchilada
  • Rice
  • Refried beans
  • Sopapilla with cinnamon
  • Two glasses of Diet Pepsi

Dinner: at the Prime On The Nine for our 37th Wedding Anniversary dinner!
  • Salad with feti cheese

Breakfast: bowl of Wheaties and perhaps a ¼ of a cup of leftover tapioca.


This tapioca was perhaps a bit old since I ended up with diarrhea twice in the next there hours. Perhaps I should limit my tapioca to two days in the refer before shitcanning it!


Snack: a small amount of dark chocolate chips.


Lunch: We went to a Japanese Binto place where I had salad, miso soup, steak in sauce, rice, veggies and a glass of Diet Pepsi. Kathie ate the raw veggie stuff and the “green sauce”. We both enjoyed my lunch...


Desert: an ice creamme bar from the place I bought a tank of gas.
It is a good thing I have an idiot light to tell me when to gas up. When I was a full time worker bee at the NWS, I had to gas up about every week and a half. I watched my gas level. Now, that I often don’t leave the house a lot, I don’t watch the gas level so much…


Snack: a couple of tablespoons of dark choclate chips.


Dinner: Hungry Man meal of:
  • BBQ chicken
  • BBQ pork chop
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Corn
  • Brownie
Glass of cold water.

Lunch: at a small place in Abilene Kansas (Hitching Post) for

  • Salad
  • Unusual spaghetti sauce and somewhat cold and old spaghetti noodles

It was the worst service we have had in years. Once the waitress dropped off the food, we did not see her again. I had to ask another waitress for a refill of the “Diet Pepsi”.

When we went to check out, I found that “our” waitress for balancing the cash register. She truly did not deserve whatever tip Kathie gave her.
...


Dinner: Healthy Choice chicken, mashed potatoe and gravy, corn, apple desert and a bottle of Landshark beer!
