People think that what they eat daily will always be remembered as normal, yet this isn't true. Someday, my descendants might be amused or appalled at what I eat...

Zatarain's Dirty Rice is quite nice but it helped really jack my blood sugar up due toI forgot to take my morning pills and there is a lot of rice in this dish.
About ½ to ¾ of an hour after finishing breakfast, I started wondering if I was going to be able to keep my breakfast down. I'm woindering if I've got some kins of "stomach flu"?

I went to the Village 8 Theater in Dodge City to see "Underworld"; their web site said the movie would start at 1:50. I sat down in the theater about 1: 38 and started wsaiting. I checked my cell phone clock and saw it was 1:58 and still not movie (but lots of insipit ads that were getting worst with each repetition). At 2:08, I went to the front desk and said "the movie was suppoed to start at 1:50". The kid behind the desk ran off to start the projedtor. About 2:10, another teenager came to ask "did you get the time from the website, sir?" "Yes." "The movie is supposed to start at 2:25. You can walk around the mall if you want?" "No, thanks, I'll just5 wait here." I made a remark about their insipic which "sucked incredibly". The kid wsas shocked (I suppose he doesn't actually watch his theater's ads...)by the time I started watching the movie, the cheese dip was quite cold...
Dinner: At the Mexican place in the local mall, two items that were basically hamberger, refried beans and "Mexican" rice. I drank water with this dinner. After I got home, I took my evening pills and nearly gagged before I got them down. I could tell my stomach was upset...

About two hours before bedtime, I felt the familiar signs of "I'm-going-to-vomit-an-hour-after-going-to-bed". So, I waited till my wife walked our dog and induced the vomiting. After spuewing the usual discoloured liquids, I felt much better. I still chugged some "Pink" (Pepto Bismol).I really should see my Family MD about this...

Pre-Bed Snack: After last night, there "ain't no way" I am going to drink anything alcoholic tonight!
Lunch: Thanksgiving lunch of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy 2 rolls with butter and a can of DP.
Dinner: Left overs from lunch. I was feeling a bit ill before dinner but I ate it anyway.
Pre-Bed Snack: I had two gin-n-tonic even through I thought I probably6 should not have had the second. About an hour after going to bed, I was swallowing stomach juices and went into the hallway bathroom. I barely made it to the toilet before losing dinne and hardly needed to stick my finger d0wn my throat. This was unpleasant.
Lunch:
Dinner:
Pre-Bed Snack:
Lunch: Arby's "French Dip" samwhich, "curly fries" and a medium "Diet Pepsi".
Dinner: At that renamed steak house:,
Lunch: Two hard boiled eggs, home mixed plain yogurt and strawberries and some splenda and an oirange.
Dinner: Left over stewed pork chop, sour krat, potatoe, more sour krat, a single little Oreo cookie and water.
Pre-Bed Snack: A gin-n-tonic in a small coffee cup and a biggish spoon of peanut butter on a small piece of bread.
Snack: I had a couple of meatballs and a bannana.
Lunch: Container of strawberry yogurt, an orange and (at home) a tuna samwhich on a slide of sour doubh bread and a can of DP.
Dinner: Stewed chopped up pork chop, slightly undercooked stewed (sliced) potatoe and too much sour krat; I drank water with dinner. This combination lead to a blood sugar reading 3! points lower than when I got up this morning!
NOT FOR MY WIFE'S EYES There was a bit of a problem with boiling the pork chop.
I had worked the 4 am to noon shift and was very tired. So, after I put the pork chops on hot, to bring the water to a boil for a few minutes, I sat down by the computer and zoned out. I completely forgot the boiling water, which I had planned on reducing to a simmer after a few minutes.
I didn't remember them until the house was filled with dense smoke and the smoke detector went off. I checked the pork chops and the b ottoms werew burnt black, while the top was seriously overcooked.
The important thing is the house was filled with smoke and it was November. The gboog think is that it was a nice day and I opened the window in the main bedroom; both my cats went up onto it. I then turned the fans on in both bathrooms and over the stove. I also opened both the front and back doors and started wasiting for the house to air out.
It took almost three hours before the house stopped smelling like smoke. I waited a bit longer and then shut the windows, the doors and turned the fans off.
When Kathie got home, she mentioned how smoky the house was. I didn't have the nerve to tell her what happened...
Lunch: I went to the Jetmore Lions Club and had salad with cottage cheese and thousand island dressing, roast beef, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, a roll with butter and water.
Snack: Sadly enuf, I had the munchies (or at least a craving for sweets) and had a small Diary Queen ice creamme cone dipped in choclate. This coast me $2.18! Two dollars and eighteen cents for a fucking ice creamme cone and a small one at that! I can see what this "Dairy Queen" never has many customers; they've priced themselves out of the market even if they are the only decent ice creamme place in town!
Dinner: Boneless chicken boiled in water and some wine, a small baked potatoe, boiled cabbage and after dinner a singel "Little Debbie" sugar coated donut.
I used to be a Navy Drug and Alcohol Drug Advisor and know drugs, alcohol and Navy programmes (in the 1980s).
Lunch: At Casey's Cowtown: salad with steak, grilled onions, thousand island dressing and water.
Dinner: At Montana Mike's: salad with thousand island dressing, grilled salmon, "fully loaded" baked potatoe and water. ("Fully loaded" baked potatoe means with cheese and bacon.)
Pre-Bed Snack: A tablespoon of peanut butter and no alcohol...
Snack: A single "Little Debbie" powder sugar coated donut...
Lunch: An orange, strawberry yogurt, a hard boiled egg and a can of DP.
Snack: An almost ripe bananna.
Dinner: Plan Reality_________can of chicken can of chicken
_________left over rice left over rice
_________raw carrots left at home...
_________1 bannana 2 almost ripe banannas
_________water water
Snack: A bananna about two hours after starting to eat dinner...
The sad thing about working Veterans Day is that I often work it and if it is on a weekday, my wife has to work too. We are both Navy veterans and it would be nice to go to the military cemetary and watch the old vets march by and maybe join them. Still, there is hope for next year (but not much).
Lunch: orange, strawberry yogurt, slice of bread with peanut butter and water.
Dinner: tuna fiche, rice, broccoli and water. Then, I blew it with 3 little Oreo cookies; I had the munchie4s...
Pre-Bed Snack: slice of sour dough bread with peanut butter and samll coffee cup of tonic water (there was no gin to be found...)
Lunch: 1 ½ rubben samwhiches and a can of DP.
Snack: three little sugar coated donuts and at work, a frozen meatball warmed in the microwave oven with some mustard put on before I ate it.
Dinner: The left over stewed pork chops, potatoes and some additional sour krat. I drank water with this and had several miniture Oreo cookies later as I got quite the sweet tooth...
I am planning on using the meal components that Anne gave me tomorrow. This should be interesting if not fun...
Lunch: Steak, baked potatoe, broccoli and a can of DP.
Dinner: Stewed pork chop, part of a boiled potatoe, lots of sour krat and water for my drink. I'm trying to serious cut back on the caffein and that is why I only had two cans of DP today and 1 ½ cups of coffee (the first before breakfast and a ½ when I got to work.
Snack: A bag of CHEEZE-IT cheese crackers and a can of DP.
Lunch: A little container of strawberry yogurt.
Dinner: At Montana Mike's: salad with thousand island dressingWell, it came with two cherries, the brownie was hard as rock, there was very little ice creamme and no Fudge syrup.
T-bone steak
"fully loaded" baked potatoe

Their "Mudslide" desert, which consists of:
*choclate brownie

*fudge sauce
*one cherry

Pre-Bed Snack: A gin-n-tonic.
Lunch:
Dinner:
Pre-Bed Snack:
Lunch: A large hamberger and a can of DP, with a largish handful of dark choclate "choclate chips" for desert.
Snack: coffee...
Additional Snacks:Twice, I had some of the left over frozen meatballs (that I left in the office). The first time, I had one. The second time, I warmed two meatballs up in the microwave, put Worchester Sauce and mustard on them and washed them down with a little bit of coffee...
I had been feeling tired and weak all afternoon and had the occasional stab of hunger. I was thinking that I could be experiencing hypoglycemia but we type 2s aren't supposed to get that...
Dinner: Healthy Choice® Cafe Steamers™ Cajun Style Chicken & Scrimp (Chicken Breast & Scrimp With Rice & Vegetables In Cajun Style Sauce), a bag of CHEEZ-ITs and a can of DP.
It was a couple of hours after finishing dinner that I remembered to take my evening pills. SHIT!
Snack: A gin-n-tonic with peanut butter and low sugar grape jelly on a gingle slice of sour dough bread.

Lunch: An orange, a container of strawberry yogurt and at home, a chicken breast from Dillins plus a can of DP. About a frac14 to frac34 of an hour later, I was definitely feeling hunger so I had a package of "Little Debbies" powder sugar donuts and a cup of coffee. That set up to rights (as the Brits say).
Dinner: Boiled chicken with boiled broccoli florets and some white rice (about a frac14 of a cup unboiled).
I vomited about an hour after going to bed.Normally, this is prestaged by me coughing up globs of yellow crap and then vomiting. This time, I barely made it to the bathroom before vomiting and the coughing up of yellow crap didn't come for maybe 10 minutes afterwards. Not a goog way to end a long day! My wife was/is concerned about my health and was pissed off at me keeping her awake!
I am writing this at 2:07 pm on the 31st and I can feel the early stages of the vomiting already.
Maybe my brother Charlie is right about me needing to see an internist and maybe my wife is right about me needing to see our family MD. However, I don't like "going to the Doctor" if I can help it...
Lunch: At Casey's Cowtown, a salad with sliced steak, sauteed onions and thousand island dressing.
Snack:The remaining little sugar coated donut I've "hidden" in the freezer. (My wife found this the other day and told me about it...)
Snack#2:The meat (boiled steak) left over from yesterday's lunch
Dinner/Supper: Boiled chicken mixed with the left over rice pilof and a couple of cans of DP.

I had forgotten to take my blastedmedications with dinner (I went out to dinner) and didn't remember until almost an hour after going to bed. By that time, I would have had to eat something, brush my teeth again and this would have completely waken me and upset my wife. Besides, my dog was sleeping between my wife and I and our boy cat (Frosty) was sleeping between me and the edge of the bed. Our other cat (Kelly) was sleeping at the end of the bed between Kathie's feet and the edge of the bed. By this time it would have been too late to save me from my A1C test and I didn't really want to wake up the family...
It was just too boring to do!

This score is the highest it has been in a long time. So, what could have caused it? I'm thinking it is the food I ate (snack and dinner) and more important, not exercising. I worked from 8 am to 4 pm (7 52 am to 4 28 pm actually) and then went to the Montezuma Kansas Lions Club meeting.
I intend to walk tomorrow morning and since it will be a Wednesday, I will also lift weights. I can only hope this will help be with the A1C test come the 23 of November...

Drinking that much beer and gin-n-tonic was a big mistake! It all came down to my stomach not emptying worth a damn and that I can not consume too many liquids before going to bed. Or course, I can't eat too much grease before going to bed. So, it is a toss upAbout an hour after going to bed, I started burping up stomach juices. I'd swallow them and go back to sleep. Then, I woke up realizing that I had stomach juices coming out of my left nostril. I must have been really asleep to sleep through this. (Thank God I never sleep on my back or I could have chocked on these juices like Jim Morrison did! Howver, I was sobor and the legend what that he wasn't...)
Well, enuf is enuf so I went into the main bedroom bathroom and sternly told my stomach "Time to barf if you want to!" Naturally nothing happened so I stuck my finger down my throat several times (6?) and that brought up enuf stomach juices that I was able to feel comfortable in going back to bed.
First, I had to wath my hands so I left this bathroom and went to the hall bathroom and found my wife getting ready to come to bed. Conversation:
Her:"Are you OK?"Me: "I am now..."
Her: "Were you vomiting?"
Me: "Errr, sort of..."
Her: What do you mean, sort of? You either were or you weren't!"
Me: "Yeah, I was..."
Her: "I thought so; don't try to hide this from me."
Me: "Yes, dear..."
Lunch: At Casey's Cowtown, a salad withy sliced beef, sauted onions other stuff and (of course) lettuce. I drank two medium glasses of "Diet Pepsi".
Dinner:
Pre-Bed Snack:
Lunch: Orange and strawberry yogurt.
Dinner: Kathie's enchelotas of enchelota, hamberger, refried beans, shredded cheese, lettuce, sour creamme and tomatoes then a salad of left over lettuce, hamberger and a Mik lager.
Pre-Bed Snack: a gin-n-tonic...
Lunch: Offcice buffet with meatballs in sauce over noodles, a slice of meat pizza, a little bit of salad, slice of choclate cake with some vinilla and some choclate ice creamme and a can of DP. Really had to have screwed up the A1C...
Dinner: I read a webpage which talked about broccoli florets being the key to "taming" one's blood sugar. So, I went to the 14th Street Dillions and bought 3 heads of broccoli. Then, I had
My morning blood sugar was 111 and my evening was only 113! I guess that shit (broccoli) works! They put a cautionary note in: "you're going to have gas like Sauda Arabia" [or words to that effect] if you increase your fiber intake. I had that gas this morning; I practically "jet propelled" myself out of bed and to the main bedroom at 4:16 am...It left me hungry so I had a half peanut butter samwhich on a slice of sour dough bread before bed with a gin-n-tonic.
Lunch: Some left over stew but not too much of the meat (it was stringy and tough) and a couple of largish potatoe chunks plus a can of DP.
Snack: I was fairly hungry so I bought a can of cheap corn beef hash, put it into a sauce pan, cracked an egg over it and cooked it over low heat until the egg was done. It was good but a couple of hours after eatting, I was afraid that I'd spoiled my dinner. My 29th Anniversary Dinner!
Dinner: We went to Mike Casey's "Casey's Cowtown" and I had
I thought about having desert - their flaming custard but I didn't becausePre-dinner "snack": a gin-n-tonic...
- I'm worried about the upcoming A1C test on 20 November 2008,
- I was afraid I'd end up getting sick from both the steak fat and the desert and
- I simply felt too stuffed!
Who would have thought I'd feel too stuffed?
So far, I have not been doing all that great...
My 2 hours post dinner5 blood sugar reading was 156...this is a bit high given that I'd had only a potatoe (and sour creamme) for the flash-to-blood gucose. Kathie thougth it was the broccoli but I checked and broccoli has a glycemic index of 15. Fifteen is in the low range!
Lunch: Boiled chicken and boiled potatoe and a can of DP.
Dinner: Hamberger on souir dough bread, boiled broccoli florfets and water.
Pre-Bed Snack:
Lunch: A conainer of strawberry yogurt and some roast beef on bread and a can of DP.
Dinner: Roast beef, potatoes, carrots and less-than-wonderful gravy and water.
Pre-Bed Snack: gin-n-tonic...
Lunch: At Casey's Cowntown, a french dip samwhich, french fries and two little glasses of "Diet Pepsi".
Snack: A bag of popcorn from Hastings and a small handful of dark choclate chips and a can of DP.
Dinner: At A&W, their 5 strip chicken stripes, french fries, a piece of bacon from my wife's hamberger (she then ate 1.5 of my chicken stripes) and a medium Diet Root Beer.
Pre-Bed Snack: Two gin-n-tonic and about an hour after going to bed, two bouts of vomiting...
