____Lunch: Initially, I ate a can of chicken noodle soup cold and undiluted. Then, shortly after 2 pm, Kathie brought a McDonalds' quarter pounder and small fries. She bought me a bottle of Diet Pepsi. She had needed to ring for the Salvation Army from noon until 2 pm as the person who volunteered did not show up. I saw her remind him last night!

_____Snack: small amount of chocolate fudge.

____Dinner:  TV Dinner, a Hungry Man of chicken, mashed potatoes,
             corn, chocolate brownie and my big (12 oz) Coffee cup
             of White Zin.

     Snack: 2 gin-n-tonic (local distillery gin) and popcorn

     This is my first shot at using the latest new meter. The VA Doc had me given a new meter, 50 test stripes and 50 lanclets. My refills are in the system and I just have to request more about a week before these run out. Since I test my blood twice a day, two days a week, I should reorder when I am down to about 8 of either.

    Note: The food at Guymon Petro is excellent as is the service. Unfortunately, I have developed a "delicate stomach" and can not handle fat.

    Aftermath: a couple of hours after going to bed, I woke up feeling ill. Nine minutes later I was quoting Vir Coto:

    It was extremely busy and there was only one waitress so there was no service. They also ran out of pizza and defaulted to very think pizza which reminded me of crackers.

    I was gambling at the slot machine when I realized I had left the box with leftovers at the table. I went to the reception desk and they did not have my left over box.

    We went to our table and the waitress said "I threw it out."

    I said "I wanted to take it home with me!" "I'm so sorry", she wailed.

    Well, damn but if a guest has left overs put in a box and writes the date on it, this should suggest the guest want to take the food home with him!

    I figure this silly girl robbed us of about $10 to $12 worth of left overs.

    I am still pissed by this. I'm thinking the next time we go out for dinner, we will simply go elsewhere!

    strange blood

    My morning reading was 164!  My evening score was 148!

    I have been fighting a cold with massive post nasal drip and coughing. Last night, I sat in the living room on a recliner coughing, gagging, blowing my nose and still trying to fall asleep. I kept coughing up literal mouthfuls of thin phlegm. This lead to me vomiting.  An hour or so later, I ended up vomiting again. I turned off the lamp, on the table next to me, and finally fell asleep.

    Kathie woke up about 5:30 am and told me to come back to bed. I did and actually slept till about 7:40 am.

    Then, I took my morning blood sugar reading and got the 164! Shit!

    My evening, two hours past "fork down" score, was 148.  Go figure!  I can not understand this blood sugar crap!

    133 AM blood 29 August 2017

    Kathie cooked steak last night on the grill she loves. It did not seem too greasy and I cut out a lot of fat. After dinner, I went to see a strange but enjoyable movie ("Dark Tower"). There, I had nachos and cheese and a small glass of "Diet Pepsi".

    After I returned home, I drank some water. I also had an asmtha attack and found relief in both nose sprays.

    I was in bed maybe an hour and started having a coughing fit. I didn't let myself think of why I was really coughing. I went to the bathroom, peed and thought I was going to vomit. I refused to induce vomiting. I went back to bed.

    About a half hour later, I sat up in bed and had another coughing fit. Then, I watched myself desperately put on my crocs and ran to the toilet. I got the lid up before I projectile vomited twice and then had a couple more minor vometing episodes.

    I went back to bed and it took a while to get back to sleep. I had dry mouth and figured I was simply dehydrated. I didn't have the ambition to go get a glass of water and actually sleep the rest of the night.

    When I checked my blood sugar first thing this morning, it was much higher than I thought. This is a sign of illness.

    Dinner:  We went to the Boot Hill Casino Restaurant and I had:
    • salad
    • spaghetti cooked in the fry pan and made with
      • sauteed
        • garlics and
        • onion
      • meatballs
      • finely chipped steak
      • tomatoes
      • red sauce
      • cheese
      • 2 glasses of Stella
    Bedtime snack: gin-n-tonic

    Sadly, my stomach gurgled a couple of hours after I went to bed but I kept my dinner down. It had to have been the combination of the seasoning in the speghetti sauce and the beer but my stomach is getting more "puny".

    Lunch.:; at Casey's Cowtown for salad, chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, white gravy, roll with butter and .Ddiet Pepsi.


    Dinner: tomato soup with Fritos and a bottle of LandShark. Later, a slice of sour dough bread and a gin-n-tonic.


    Aftermath: my stomach was churning several hours after i went to bed. I called it's bluff. I stood over the toilet peeing and sternly told my stomach to vomit if it needed to but i was not going to help. My stomach settled right down and I slept well the rest of the night.

    I didn't eat enough last night and kept waking up from about 2:00 am to about 4:30 am feeling hungry. I thought that I'd have low blood sugar this morning and yet, my waking blood sugar was above 100!

    Once again, I'm shown that anticipating my blood sugar is futile!

    Lunch:
    Skipped as we were working in the yard. Oddly, I did not get hungry...

    Dinner:
    Kathie made:
    • baked chicken
    • rice pilaf
    • boiled broccoli florets
    • about a ¼ (quarter) cup of White Zin and
    • a glass of cold water.
    My stomach was upset, leaving me with gut pain. I think I waited far too long before starting to eat dinner around 4 pm. I will definitely eat a proper lunch to,morrow and will bring something to eat around 5 pm. I hope that I am not turning into a "brittle"!

    After several Tums and whilst thinking of "Pink" (Pepto-Bismuth), I remember once being ask "did I try to induce vomiting"? So, I went to the bathroom, stuck my finger down my throat and blew chunks. 

    When the dinner left, so did the pain. I think my body was reacting to some of the seasoning.
